THE BEST APÉROS TO TRY AT THE MOMENT IN PARIS

The aperitif, in French referred to as the apéro, is a moment of great relaxation: there is nothing better than sharing a plate of saucisson, hams and a beer with friends, during the golden hour… However, sometimes we like to switch out the usual beer and meat combo for something different. We are in luck, with the summer season come new adventures, encounters, and apéro spots. Below, a selection of the best aperitifs of the moment in Paris.

Istr for an oyster apéro

Istr means oyster in Breton, a nod to the origins of the three creators of the restaurant. Inspired by New York’s oyster bars, you can taste oysters – at the counter or at your table – in a chic backdrop. All the products from the sea-infused menu are of top notch quality, from the lobster, shrimp to the ceviche. We love to go there every Sunday from 6 pm onwards, for Oyster hour: all oysters are sold for one euro, and the cocktail for nine!

NOUS RESTAURANT for a healthy apéro

Nous is very meticulous about the quality of its ingredients. The fruits and vegetables are all organic, the beef and chicken are raised in open-air, the wine is biodynamic, and all of it comes from France. Put into practice this makes for a plate of marinated salmon, with its mint yogurt sauce; fried vegetables of the season with raita or a trio of cheeses accompanied with fig and nut jam. And of course a healthy cocktail to sip with all of this, like a Mojitea.

Papadoom Kitchen for an Indian apéro

Come experience a contemporary Indian cuisine at Papadoom Kitchen. Here, each room is decorated differently to explore the multiple colors of India – from the terracotta Papadoom lounge, to the pink Jaipour living room. For the aperitif there is a selection of small plates to choose from, such as lamb samosa, and also delicious vegetarian options: such as Masala Vadai, doughnuts of lentils and split peas, with mint yogurt sauce. Yummy.

For a tasty Italian aperitif, we recommend having some super fresh mozzarella di buffala, with an Aperol spritz. The famous spritz is available in  multiple versions, for the more adventurous there is the spritz bella rossa or the mandorla spritz julep to try!

Ground Control for an artistic and casual apéro

Ground Control, located in a huge covered market, is one of the most dynamic and creative spots of the capital. We like to meet friends here to share something to eat, and try from one of the many food offers.
