The Emil Bührle collection is one of the most prestigious in the world. This is the very first time it is displayed in France. Bührle was born in Germany and spent most of her life in Switzerland. During that time she collected around 600 works of art. This exhibition displays around 50 of those pieces. There are Modern Art pieces by Manet, Monet, Pissarro, Degas, Renoir, and Sisley, Impressionist paintings by Cézanne, Gauguin, Van Gogh, and Toulouse-Lautrec, Nabi works from artists like Bonnard and Vuillard as well as Fauvist pieces by Braque, Derain, and Vlaminck. Last but not least, Modigliani and Picasso are also front and center. This exhibition shows how these specific artistic movements influenced each other while showcasing the genius and legacy of each individual artist.
